HUMIHIRIT ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ng 1.4 billion pesos na pondo upang tuluyan nang makumpleto ang bagong highway na mag-uugnay sa mga lalawigan ng Samar at Eastern Samar, at magpapaikli sa biyahe sa pagitan ng dalawang lungsod ng dalawang oras.
Sinabi ni DPWH Eastern Visayas Regional Director Edgar Tabacon na umaasa silang maku-kumpleto ang buong Road Opening and Concreting Project bago matapos ang termino ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
