MAGKASUNOD na nabingwit ng mga lokal na mangingisda sa katubigan ng lalawigan ng Cagayan ang mga plastic packs na naglalaman ng shabu.
Ayon sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), unang namaatan ng mga mangingisda ang labinglimang plastic packs na palutang-lutang sa sa katubigan ng Babuyan Island at Gonzaga, Cagayan na kalaunan ay natuklasan ng mga otoridad na naglalaman ng 15 kilograms na shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P102,000,000.
Kasunod ito ay may nakita ring 400-gram floating shabu package sa pagitan ng Camiguin Island at Cape Engaño sa Sta. Ana, Cagayan na nagkakahalaga ng P2,720,000.
Ayon sa PDEA, agad dinala ng mga mangingisda ang mga shabu sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office II (PDEA RO 2) at sa Police Regional Office 2 (PRO 2).
Pinasalamatan naman ni PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez ang mga mangingisda sa kanilang naging hakbang.
