INIMPEACH ng Kamara si Vice President Sara Duterte sa pamamagitan ng dalawandaan labinlimang kongresista na nag-endorso ng reklamo laban sa kanya.
Ayon sa reklamo na inaprubahan sa house plenary, nag-move ang complainants na i-impeach si Duterte batay sa grounds na culpable violation of the constitution, betrayal of public trust, graft and corruption, at other high crimes.
At dahil ang lagpas ang 215 endorsers sa one-third ng house membership na 306, diniretso ang reklamo sa Senado, alinsunod sa 1987 constitution.
Opisyal na tinanggap ni Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. ang articles of impeachment laban sa Bise Presidente mula kay house secretary general Reginald Velasco, bago mag-ala sais kagabi.
Nag-ugat ang impeachment complaint mula sa inquiry ng House Committee on Good Government at Public Accountability, sa paggamit ng confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President at Department of Health sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Duterte.
