NAKAHANDA ang Local Government Unit ng Maynila sa problemang maaaring maidulot ng nakatakdang pagsasara ng Navotas Landfill.
Ayon kay Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, nakatanggap sila ng sulat mula kay Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Romando Artes kung saan pinapayuhan ang Manila LGU na dalhin na lamang muna sa New San Mateo Sanitary Landfill sa Rizal ang kanilang basura simula ngayon, August 27.
Ito ay dahil sa permanente nang isasara ang Navotas Sanitary Landfill na nagsimula kahapon, August 26.
Dahil dito, sinabi ni Moreno na maaaring magkaroon ng pagbagal sa proseso ng paghakot ng basura dahil ang San Mateo ay 30 kilometers ang layo sa Maynila kumpara sa Navotas na 10 kilometers lang ang layo.
