Sinabi ni Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Eastern Visayas Director Wilma Parante na ang pagbaba ay resulta ng pag-angat ng full-time employment opportunities, sustained infrastructure investments, at holiday o seasonal economic boosts kung saan pinapayagan ang existing workers na magtrabaho pa ng ilang oras.
Batay sa report, nasa 266,000 mula sa 1.898 million employed individuals sa rehiyon ang naghahanap ng additional work o mas mahabang oras ng pagtatrabaho noong nakaraang taon.
