IDINEKLARA ng Malakanyang ang State of Calamity sa Eastern Visayas.
Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation No. 920 ang pagsasailalim sa State of Calamity sa Eastern Visayas sa loob ng isang taon, upang bigyang daan ang rehabilitasyon sa San Juanico Bridge.

Sinabi ng pangulo na ang State of Calamity na epektibo noong June 5 ay maaring bawiin ng mas maaga o palawigin, depende sa sitwasyon.
Nakasaad sa proklamasyon na sa pamamagitan ng deklarasyon ng State of Calamity, ay mapabibilis ang pagkukumpuni at rehabilitasyon sa 2.16 kilometers na tulay na nag-uugnay sa Samar at Leyte.
Mabibigyan din nito ang national government, pati na ang Local Government Units ng sapat na panahon para magamit ang kinakailangang pondo para sa repair at ligtas na pag-upgrade ng San Juanico Bridge.
