PINALALAKAS ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang kanilang kampanya laban sa child labor, sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaloob ng mahigit 1.2 million pesos na halaga ng livelihood assistance sa may apatnapung pamilya sa Catbalogan City.
Ayon kay Romeo Mabini Jr., Program-Based Coordinator at Designated Information Officer ng DOLE Samar, ang mga benepisyaryo ay pinili batay sa child laborer profiling na isinagawa simula 2018 hanggang 2022.

Sinabi ni Mabini na dati ay mayroong 1,659 child laborers sa lalawigan ng Samar, subalit pagsapit ng December 2024 ay bumaba ang bilang sa 1,450 dahil sa mga programa at hakbang ng gobyerno, kabilang na ang age-related changes.
