PALALAKASIN ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang pagpapatupad ng apat na summer programs sa Mayo upang mapagbuti ang pundasyon ng mga mag-aaral sa lahat ng antas.
Ang apat na programa ay kinabibilangan ng Bawat Bata Makababasa Program (BBMP), Literacy Remediation Program (LRP), Summer Academic Remedial Program, at Learning Camp (LC).
Ayon sa DepEd, tututukan ng mga nabanggit na programa ang targeted teaching, mobilization ng volunteers, maging ang kapakanan ng mga mag-aaral, at pakikilahok ng mga komunidad.
Nanawagan si Education Secretary Sonny Angara sa stakeholders na makiisa sa kanilang misyon, dahil bawat batang Pilipino ay may karapatang matutong bumasa, makaunawa, at magtagumpay.
