Inaprubahan ng Provincial Board Members ang resolusyon na nagde-deklara ng state of calamity sa Samar, kasunod ng rekomendasyon mula sa Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Mas mataas ito ng 307 percent kumpara sa 482 cases na naitala sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.
