NILINAW ng Department of Finance na ang 28 Billion Pesos Rural Modular Bridge Project ay kasalukuyang ipinapanukalang mapondohan ng gobyerno ng France at hindi ng South Korea.
Ito ay kasunod ng ulat na iniatras ni South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung ang pagpopondo sa 28 Billion Pesos Infrastructure Loan ng Pilipinas dahil sa mga isyu ng korapsyon.

Sa inilabas na paliwanag ng DOF, sinabi nitong bilang bahagi ng “Standard Practice”, ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas ay naghahanap ng Financing Options sa iba’t ibang Development Partners nito para sa mga ipatutupad na proyekto.
Ayon sa DOF, ang Rural Modular Bridge Project ay inunang ikinonsidera para mapondohan ng South Korea pero hindi itinuloy ng Department of Agrarian Reform ang kasunduan noong nakaraang taon dahil sa “Non-Alignment” sa ilang isyu at Technical Specifications.
