IPINAGMALAKI ng militar na wala nang nagongolekta ng “permit to campaign” at “permit to win” fees mula sa New People’s Army (NPA) sa Leyte at Samar bago ang May 12 elections.
Sinabi ni Brig. Gen. Noel Vestuir, commander ng 802nd Infantry Brigade, na isang linggo bago ang halalan, ay wala kahit isang NPA violent activities na na-monitor ng militar.
