Ayon sa Bureau of Fire Protection – National Capital Region (BFP-NCR), nagsimula ang sunog 12:39 P.M. kahapon at idineklarang Fireout, 1:34 P.M.
Naapektuhan ng sunog ang Bureau of Research Standards (BRS) Building ng DPWH.
Sa Statement, sinabi ng ahensya na walang dokumento na may kinalaman sa isinasagawang imbestigasyon sa Flood Control Anomalies ang nasa BRS Building.
Paliwanag ng DPWH, ang BRS ang responsable sa pagsasagawa ng Research, Studies, Pilot Testing, at Formulation ng mga polisiya para sa Government Infrastructure Projects.
Inihayag ng kagawaran na batay sa Initial Findings ay nagsimula ang sunog mula sa isang Computer Unit na nasa Materials Testing Division na sinasabing sumabog.
Samantala, hiniling ni Office of the Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla sa National Bureau of Investigation na alamin kung sinadya ba ang sunog sa pasilidad ng Department of Public Works and Highways sa Quezon City.
