Ayon kay DepEd Eastern Visayas Regional Information Officer Jasmin Calzita, layunin ng recruitment process na tulungan ang mga paaralan na matugunan ang mental health issues ng mga estudyante sa rehiyon.

Aniya, ang mga counselor ay legally mandated professionals na umaakto bilang first responders sa mga isyu, gaya ng depression, bullying, at family conflict, kaya importanteng pundasyon sila ng holistic education.
